A few of the professional bits
BSc(Hons) MCOptom DipTp(IP)
Diploma in Independent Prescribing.
Professional certificates in Paediatric Eye Care and Glaucoma.
I began my pre-registration year at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. Since then, I’ve worked across hospital optometry, high street practice and domiciliary eye care, as well as being a clinical supervisor at Aston University.
My journey has taken me to St Thomas’ Hospital and the private optometry clinic Burnett Hodd & Tam, with specialist work in cornea, cataract and contact lenses.
I’m also a co-director of Out of the Box Optics, where we provide training for students and qualified optometrists. Helping others grow in confidence is a part of my work I really enjoy.
I’ve received the Dame Mary Perkins Leadership Award from the Optical Women’s Association (OWA), alongside an Alcon Scholarship in 2021, and was a finalist for Clinical Leader of the Future at the 2023 Optician Awards.
01 / About the founder
Hi, I’m Krupa.A head full of eyedeas.
I’m an eye care professional, educator and the person behind eyedeas.
My Instagram chapter began on 13 December 2018, with a purpose: to inspire others and show that optometry can be more than the testing room. I wanted to share the possibilities within our profession and the person and life beyond the clinic. This planner brings that same spirit off the screen and onto the page.
I’d tried a number of different planners, but hadn’t found one that felt made for life in eye care. I wanted somewhere for the appointments, the learning and all the thoughts that don’t quite fit into a calendar.
That’s the idea behind your eyedeas: a planner and journal with room for notes from a team meeting, an eyedea from a CPD event, or a few thoughts to unwind after a busy week. Our work can be demanding and deeply rewarding, and I wanted space for both.
About a year ago, I read Simon Squibb’s What’s Your Dream? while I was away on holiday. It encouraged me to turn a long-held thought into something practical and useful for other eye care professionals. That was when the eyedea of a planner came to mind — somewhere to bring planning, learning and reflection together.
More recently, I’ve loved The Power of Being Perfectly Imperfect by fellow optometrist Sheena Tanna-Shah. Its message of embracing imperfection fits with what I want these pages to offer: a moment to reflect, notice what went well and be a little kinder to ourselves.
I’ve worked in eye care since 2015, across hospital, community and specialist practice. Alongside this, I’m a co-director of Out of the Box Optics, where we provide training for students and qualified optometrists. Supporting others as they learn is a part of my work I love.
Giving back is part of our ethos at Out of the Box Optics, and it’s something I wanted to carry into eyedeas. That’s why £1 from every planner sold will be donated to Vision Care.
Whether you’re an optometrist, ophthalmologist, orthoptist, dispensing optician or working elsewhere in eye care, this is for you. And if your head is full of “I must remember that…” thoughts, you’re in good company. Welcome to eyedeas.

A little care,
beyond these pages.
Vision Care provides free eye care and glasses for people affected by homelessness. Through its clinics and community partnerships, the charity helps people access care they might otherwise go without.
